Brooklin Boat Yard has been producing fine wooden boats (both power and sail) since 1960. Initially under the watchful eye of yard founder Joel White these boats were built using traditional plank-on-frame construction. Since the early 1990’s the majority of Brooklin Boat Yard’s new construction projects have been cold molded, vacuum bagged wood/composite laminates that produce an exceptionally light, stiff hull. One recent project was originally designed for aluminum construction. Our design office was able to work with the naval architect to save both weight and money, ending up with a beautiful wooden boat built at Brooklin Boat Yard.
