PRIDE

1995, Gaff-Rigged Buzzards Bay 25, 33’

PRIDE was launched and sea trialed here in Brooklin in the summer of 1995 after which she was placed on a trailer and delivered to her (then) owners home on the shore of Lake Ontario. PRIDE sailed there for the rest of that summer before being hauled out for winter storage. For unknown reasons her (then) owners never launched PRIDE again.

In the fall of 2016 Brooklin Boat Yard purchased her and had her brought back to the yard for a significant refit. The refit (done over 2016-2017 winter) included some repair of water damage but mostly was done to renew the cosmetics of the boat (paint and varnish finishes) and replace items that had deteriorated or been ruined due age and exposure (new standing & running rigging, new sails & canvas)

With the refit completed PRIDE was launched in time for the 2017 Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and feeder races where she had the opportunity to stretch her legs and strut her stuff on the race course.  PRIDE wasted no time in establishing the fact that she can be a forse to be reckoned with  by placing 1st in class in the Castine Classic Yacht Regatta, 3rd in class in the Camden Classic Yacht Regatta and finished up the weekend with a 2nd in class in the ERR.

PRIDE is now on a mooring here at Brooklin Boat Yard available for inspection and test sail for qualified candidates.
