Brooklin Boat Yard is teaming once again with designer Jim Taylor of Marblehead, MA. This 49-foot racer/cruiser is a variation of Jim’s very successful design DREADNOUGHT, launched by BBY in June of 2014. The owner is an experienced New England yachtsman with a keen interest in racing.
In order to weigh this boat more heavily on the racing side of the racer/cruiser spectrum, Jim removed the stall shower from the head. This allowed the cockpit, aft end of the cabin trunk, and interior arrangement aft of the mast to be moved forward 25 inches. Other differences include a dedicated life raft locker and changes to deck hardware layout. The underbody of this boat is identical to DREADNOUGHT.
This boat exemplifies how Brooklin Boat Yard’s experience with one-off construction allows an existing design to be tailored to meet an individual client’s needs.
