Enticer 2002
Enticer
Upon her donation to Independence Seaport Museum, Enticer came to Brooklin Boat Yard for a thorough restoration, after which she was to become the institution's flagship. Too large for the yard's Travelift, the hauling and launching was sub-contracted to Brownell Boat Transport. So up the beach she came, and into the big new BBY shed where she'd undergo a complete rebuild: hull, interior, systems, powerplant, and auxiliaries. She emerged a year later, better than new, and was again rolled over the beach and into the water.
No longer owned by Independence Seaport, Enticer is presently part of the McMillen charter fleet of handsome and finely-fitted Trumpy houseboats.
Originally commissioned by a Chicago meatpacking millionaire Joseph M. Cudahy, the yacht was built in 1935, but her classic good looks and traditional style endure.
Always maintained to the high standards Enticer has received refits throughout her life, but the most thorough by far took place in 2001 & 2002 at Brooklin Boat Yard during which more than two million dollars were spent to bring the yacht to her current “concourse” condition. Although based in Newport, RI, Enticer cruises between New England, the Chesapeake, South Florida and the Bahamas.
Eight guests are beautifully accommodated in four staterooms. The yacht’s other spaces are perfect for lounging, dining, and enjoying family and friends. Al fresco dining for eight can take place on the yacht’s aft deck.
