Nick Carter

Chief Operations Officer

Nick grew up on Mount Desert Island, Maine, but moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, during his late childhood. Living in both locations gave him a deep appreciation for the ocean, fishing, and boats. His first job as an I.T. Support Agent prepared him for a career in information technology. He spent several years working for a media start-up as the technology director before the company was bought by USA Today. At USA Today, Nick continued the technology path and was largely focused on sports photography and video. He was able attend the Olympics, the Super Bowl, and the Final Four. “That was pretty exciting,” he says.

All the while, Nick knew he wanted to eventually move back to Maine, so in 2014, he and his wife made the move to Brooklin. They now live in Brooklin with their three children, and the whole family enjoys life on the water. Nick says fishing and sailing are hobbies the whole family enjoys regularly.

When Nick met with BBY about a possible position in management, he says the idea of leaving the corporate world behind was appealing. "Working for a small business is more rewarding,” says Nick.
